What is Exfoliating
Exfoliation involves the removal of the oldest dead skin cells from the skin's surface. The word comes from the Latin word "exfoliare". Exfoliation is involved in all facials, during microdermabrasion, or chemical peels. Exfoliation can be achieved by mechanical or chemical means. From: Wikipedia
Luffa Sponges are an excellent exfoliating material. A totally natural material, especially when grown without use of pesticides and other chemicals. Luffa Sponges can be used as grown, typically cut or sewn into useful forms or incorportated into a Luffa Soap. If you look at the picture of the soap, you can see the Luffa Sponge in the circular soap bar.
Soap and Luffa fibers make a natural cleaning combination resulting in wonderful Luffa Soap. Luffas are placed in a cylindrical mold, filled with soap, cured, sliced and packaged. Since these are hand-crafted and use different shapes and sizes of luffas, no two Soaps are exactly alike. Colors from one batch to another may slightly vary as well.
